More changes

Court got called into the YM's presidency yesterday. He is really excited that he will continue to hang out with all the scouts that he had this last year in the 11 yr scout group. However, this means with both of us serving with the youth that our Wednesday night just got a lot crazier. Between youth conference, girls camp and the scout's 50 miler, the month of July will be a bit nuts. But a ton of fun as well. Lucky for us Court's family lives close by to help with Izzy.

My last few posts have been minus pictures so I just had to add one. This is her latest game. She loves to growl like a lion while doing it.

A rush at DI

Yesterday I was feeling a bit better and had really bad cabin fever. Normally we would just go for a walk or something but it rain all day. So I decided to go to DI. I love looking for that great find. We happened to show up about 8 minutes before they opened and were surprised to see 10 people standing at the doors. IN THE RAIN. I was not that crazy so we stayed in the car. By 10:00 am there were almost 20 people several with young kids wrapped in blankets. I was in amazement as the doors were charged and people literally ran down the aisles. It was just a small reminder of the day after Thanksgiving.

Sickness again

Don't you just love it when sickness makes the rounds. Izzy was sick on my birthday last week and it lingered for 5 days. Then Court got sick over the weekend. When both of Court's parent got it I thought wow, I am exempt. Cool! Well that was until last night. Either my body takes a while to catch on or it just couldn't hold out long enough. So needless to say I feel like I have been out of commission. Sometimes, I think it would great if everyone could get sick at the same time. I know it would make for a couple really long days. But at this way it is done and over with. No concern for the cycle to start over.

So in the meantime, I am quarantining myself until I get over this as I don't want any of my friends and especially their young babes to get it.

My bro

We helped Mikey and Brooke move into their house last week. It is the cutest house. I even took up my camera to get pictures but was distracted and this is the only picture I got of Izzy helping. However, I am sure they will be posting pictures on their blog soon.

Anyways now that they have moved out, Court and I have been rearranging things and designating rooms for other purposes. It is a really strange feeling. I was telling Court the other night how the house feels like a totally different one. Almost like we got a new house. And of course the organizing and the decorating has been exciting.

However, on the other hand it is a bit sad. Kind of like an end to an important chapter in my life. Mikey and I have lived on our own together since I got home from my mission. Of course we had times when we butted heads or got on each others nerves (what siblings don't) but through it all he has been my best friend. He was there when no one else was. We have been through so much together that it is hard to imagine that I won't been seeing him on a daily basis.

To my brother and best friend: thanks for putting up with me and being my rock when I needed you. I know you will do awesome in Logan. You are the best. I love you.

Happy Birthday Court!

Court's birthday was on Sunday. Every couple of years either Court's or my birthday lands on Mother's day. Which is great, it just makes us very busy. We spent the weekend with our mothers and then also had to make sure to save time to celebrate Court's b-day.

In addition, Mikey's birthday is the same day. Every year we normally have a big BBQ to Mikey, Courts and our friend Brian's (who was also born on the 11th) b-days. Which would makes it even crazier, however this year Mikey went on a cruise so it did free up a little time over the weekend. We will be getting together later this week though. Can't miss a reason to party, right?

This is the cake I made on Sunday morning for Court's b-day. It is a football stadium if you can't tell. For a first attempt it turned out pretty good. I actually ran out of eggs making waffles for Court's birthday breakfast. So we had to call his grandfather who lives down the street and borrow eggs. Isn't it nice to have family close by?

Happy Birthday to my two favorite men: my husband and brother.

Doctors

Our insurance changed when Court switched jobs last year. Lucky for me I haven't needed to go to a doctor until recently, and unfortunately our primary care physician isn't covered by our new insurance. So I was in search of a new one. I got a couple of referrals and started making phone calls. What a joke. The places I called don't have openings for new patients for a couple of months. I am need one now not in a couple of months. Am I suppose to schedule when I get sick?

Apparently, only current patients can get in within a weeks time. However, I was informed that I could schedule an appointment that would be out a couple of months (at which point I will be feeling fine) but at least I could then be placed on the patient list for future needs. Sure I guess I could use the time to get a physical but that is why I have an obgyn. Court was teasing me that I should just schedule the appt walk in, introduce myself and tell the doctor I am not sick but just needed to get on her patient list and leave. That would be the shortest doctor visit in the world, but not worth the money. I HATE changing doctors. In the meantime, I am stuck trying to find anyone with a license to get rid of this sinus infection.

Feeling a bit spoiled

We decided to use our tax rebate for new appliances. The old ones were on their last leg. Below is a picture of my beautiful new stove, microwave and fridge. I love them. Cooking is so much easier and a lot more fun.

Well yesterday Court and his father made shelves in my pantry. We were using some makeshift shelves that I hated. So Court decide that it would make a great mother's day gift. Isn't that awesome.

Now all I need to do is paint my cupboards and my kitchen will be done. Of course I will still have the family office, office and scrap room to do.
