Summertime! Hooray

Our days have been filled with playing outside. Since Isabel has such sensitive skin and burns easily (even with sunscreen) we try to keep her in the front of the house in the morning and in the backyard in the evening. Here are some fun pictures of our summer fun.

Izzy has really got the knack for bowling. I got these pins at DI for like a dollar. She has me set them up and then rolls the ball. After which she stands up and knocks down the rest by hand.

This is up Millcreek canyon at the Mills hot dog roast. She got over excited about the ketchup to dip her hot dog in and got it all over her face.

Sidewalk chalk is the greatest. Izzy just loves to color on mom's pictures. Hope you all are enjoy the summer months.

Congrats Emily and Devin

Court sister Emily got engaged on Friday. They are looking at an October wedding. We are excited to welcome Devin into the family. I think he will make a great addition. Hopefully he will learn that our teasing nature is in all good fun. Congratulations.

Croup

The croup hit on Monday. We still have no idea where she might have got it as last week she was really around any other kids and I kept her out of nursery because of a running nose. She had such a bad night on Monday that we went into the docs on Tuesday. Once he heard the shallow breathing and barking cough he immediately said it was croup. Of course nights are worse then days. And overall, I think it is slowly getting better. I can handle the barking cough although I know it hurts. I can also handle the high fever although I feel like I am constantly drugging my poor girl on Tylenol. However, the bouts of difficulty breathing are not as easy to deal with. Although I am beginning to notice when an episode is coming so I can start a steam shower or get her out in the night air.

I feel so bad for Isabel. It seems she just gets over being sick and then she gets hit with something new. I guess this is all normal with a child. I just hope her immune system gets stronger. So once again we are out commission for a while.

Work hard and Play even harder

I real love watching Isabel's personality grow. In the last couple of months she has really become very opinionated. And she will definitely tell you when you aren't doing what she wants. For instance, Court normally waits until he has put the car in gear and moving before grabbing his seat belt. Well Isabel will yell at him and point to his seat belt if he even starts the car before putting it on. She is so observant. In fact, she has watched us start the car and put it into gear so many times that week we put her in the front seat and she showed us in order what you needed to do to start the car and get it moving.

I also love that fact that she wants to be involved in all the action. No matter what Court or I are doing she has to be helping. No matter if it is painting, building, weeding or cleaning up. Here are some pictures of her helping dad and grandpa building shelves. Too cute.

But no matter how hard she works she always plays so much harder. Here is a picture of her feet after playing outside. Of course this is only one day of dirt.

Well I am sure we will have much more to add later this week from Court's trip to Denver this weekend. Oh and all the activities we have planned for this week. I need a nap just thinking of them.
